CREATIVE WORK

Being the sentimental person that i am, i haven't actually kept any of the creative works i made through high school or records of them. However, upon scanning my computer i came across this old photo of an installation artwork i did in yr 9 or 10 art, it's not nearly my best but like i said it's the only one i could find. It's a class room i set up outside, with a blackboard punched out and framing the background behind it allowing the students to observe the raw outside world. I can't remember the exact meaning behind it anymore but I'm sure it must have been something very deep and profound.

GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

This is a photo i took last year in Barcelona of La Sagrada Familia, designed by Gaudi, and it's the piece of architecture that left one of the the biggest impacts on me of any architecture I've seen in the world. It's not just that it's so epic and absurdly detailed that leaves an impression, it's styling is unlike anything else I've seen. to me it looks both very classical and very modern at the same time. it's forms seem very organic yet artificial looking. The photo shows the huge interior columns which branch out and resemble trees yet at the same time look strangely alien. seeing the entire cathedral inside and out was a very profound experience for me and just defied all the conventions i was used to in architecture. plus it's GIGANTIC.

SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

This a photo i took of the Mahon pool in Maroubra beach close to where i live and when I'm there i tend to forget that I'm in the middle of sydney. The elevations around the pool block all view of anything man made making it a real nice place to get away that's still close to home. In rough weather you can swim in the pools and watch the waves violently crash on the nearby rocks and then cascade back down them.
